The Rockers have decided to throw all convention into the wind and field an undrafted 2011 squad! GM Leo Pare was commented as saying, "the biggest challenge will be staying sober through the first 2 hours of the draft after boredom sets in."
Rockers send Ellsbury, Lester and picks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9
for
Tulowitski and Labatt picks 11, 12, 13, 15, 16 and Charlie's 14
Brace yourselves for the messageboard meltdown that is about to follow.
What the fuck just happened??! Did Leo just pull a Ditka???
ReplyDeleteTotal Ditka...in fact he told Tom that he had a "Ricky Williams" offer for him.
ReplyDeleteIs there another Tulowitzki I'm not familiar with?
ReplyDeleteYou know, it's funny. I have been supporting Leo when everyone keeps saying "Leo is mediocre, he won't win anything". When I saw Leo's team a couple days ago, I thought to myself "He's got a good team, he looks like a good owner to me" and then he pulls this trade. Disgusting.
ReplyDeleteI thought since Pat's team has been raped of all the good players and Charlie replaced Will, Tom would have no one to steal from, I stand corrected. The only, ONLY reason why I am not completely flustered by this trade is the fact Tom can't draft for shit.
Leo, I understand Ellsbury, Lester and a number 1 pick for Tulo, but did you really have to throw in your 2,3,4,5,7,8 and 9 picks as well.
Forget Tim paying two 2's for A-rod, this sets the standard for overpaying.
Does this trade push Tom to the top of the list of favorites to win? I think so.
ReplyDeleteThat must've been some get together behind the dumpster.
I disagree, Joey. Tom SAYS he sucks at drafting, when actually he's not that terrible.
What does it matter? We all know that the Metal Heads are going to win anyway. This trade is completely meaningless. Its two stepping stones exchanging pennies while the magnificently maned Metal Heads stomp all over their hopes and dreams.
ReplyDeleteJoey, this league is won by who you keep not how many draft picks you start with... check out the finishes over the past few seasons for the team that began with the most draft picks, not so pretty is it?
ReplyDeleteI have elite players at each infield position, talent levels which you simply cannot find counterparts for in the draft. I also have two SPs who'll get me 15+ wins and 200+ Ks.
How many keepers did you get last year with your picks #1-9? A more interesting fact might be how many of those picks you wasted on closers...
How many non-drafted SPs were used throughout the season last year? Latos? RA Dickey? Marcum? And wasn't Buchholz even picked up off the waiver wire after he was dropped b/c of a slow start?
How many OFs went undrafted and were everyday contributors by mindseason? Delmon Young? Chris B Young? Corey Hart? Huff?
Sure non of these are sexy names, but they all work and fill up a roster well enough when you have elite talent in tough positions like SS(Tulo) while others do not (Exhibit 1: Jeter)
Joey's just mad that we haven't sent him his trophy yet for being the king of December in this league. It's kinda funny how much Joey pouts every time he's not part of a deal.
ReplyDeleteLeo has a strategy. I have a strategy. We'll see what works. The biggest pressure in the league is on Joey. That's for sure.
I agree Leo about how this league is won with keepers, hence my drastic upgrades throughout my time being here. It's just you didn't have to give him, your whole draft.
ReplyDeleteTom, I'm still not feeling pressure from you, it's just I thought you weren't going to be able to make the playoffs and now with this trade, there's just another team in the mix for the championship.
Typical Joey. Evaluating teams December/January instead of in August/September when it matters
ReplyDelete" It's kinda funny how much Joey pouts every time he's not part of a deal. "
ReplyDeleteI do not pout sir, I may disapprove, I may throw my opinion out there, but no pouting is involved. I just can't fathom why people still let you blatantly rip them off. How is this happening? You're not sly, you're not charming, you're certainly not handsome. The more I hear about these dumpster rumors, the more I believe them.
This is the single greatest trade that this league has ever seen. Excellent work gentlemen.
ReplyDeleteTom is done with his draft before Leo even starts his.
ReplyDeleteIt OK. We all know that Tom can't draft. No worries. All praise to Joey, our lord and savior.
