- Grant (5 premium names, with a potential for 6)
- Veno (best INF in league history?)
- Metalheads (5 premium names and a few solid candidates for the 6th spot)
- DC (might have best collection of SP, and an eclectic group of offensive players )
- Rooters (4 definites, another one who could be the best of the 5, and some depth to choose a 6th)
- Flats (4 deep and then some risk, but there are names on the short list)
- Rockers (only 3 great ones, but 2 other strong ones and 1 tempting injury)
- Labatt (three easy choices and then some decisions need to be made
- Warriors (I dont like the high end guys, but he's built some good depth)
- Thunderlips (top notch pitching, offense needs complete overhaul)
- Charlie (I think he has 4 strong ones with enough to make 6 if he chooses)
- Patrick (1 slam dunk K and another likely, otherwise there's nothing)

Food For Thought...Keepers
So I'm hoping to promote discussion on this site rather than through reply-alls over emails. Given that Joey just brought up the point regarding keepers, who do you think has the best collection of keepers? I will list my rankings below, without listing players. I wouldn't want to give anyone any ideas.

1. Pilgirms - 7 definite keepers
ReplyDelete2. Music - 6 definite keepers, with 3 who would be keepers on some other teams
3. Dynasty - 5, plus 2 borderline
4. Metalheads - 5, plus 1 borderline.
5. Rockers - 5, plus 3 borderline.
6. Warriors - 4, plus 3 borderline. (Mike Stanton's goal for 2011: To crush his enemies, see them driven before him, and to hear the lamentation of their women.)
7. Rooters - 4, plus 3 borderline
8. Flats - 3, plus 4 borderline
9. Labatt - 3, plus 4 borderline
10. Tlips - 2, plus 5 borderline
11. Charles - 3, plus 4 borderline
12. Yellow Stars - 3, plus 2 borderline
1) Pilgrims - 7 keepers, 5 of them being elite/great keepers, 2 solid options for 6th keeper.
ReplyDelete2) Metalheads - 4 elite/great keepers, 2 already fantastic young players who haven't taped into their potential.
3) Music - 5 elite/great keepers with 1 keeper having potential to be great. Issue is, this team has older, and possibly injury prone players (Mauer/Tex/Utley>
Tier
4) Rockers - 5 solid keepers, with a few choices for a 6th. Love the dominating lefty combo.
5) DC - 6 keepers, not thrilled with Howard/Greinke.
Tier
6) Rooters - I can see 6 keepers but there's alot of injury risk/youth risk
7) Warriors - Has 6 keepers, with a few elite/great keepers, with some risk.
8) Labatt - 3 elite/great keepers with 1 solid keeper, some pretty crappy choices after that, which involve major risk.
9) Flats - I see 2 elite/great, 1 solid and 1 "should be" solid, and a few of questionable keepers.
Tier
10) Scorgasms - I see 7 possible keepers, 3 solid but a lot of them are old and deteriorating.
11) Tlips - Great starting pitching but absolutely horrid hitting. Easily the worst set of keepers I have seen Tlips own.
Tier
12) Yellow Stars - 1 keeper, 1 border line keeper.
I love how Joey puts himself in the top tier. The continued overconfidence is comical. Keep winning those December titles.
ReplyDeleteCliff Lee to the NL? Cole Hamels a fourth starter? Good times.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I was going to let Tom's little comment slide, but I saw an interview today with David Wright. Wright was talking about the Phillies acquiring Cliff Lee and how, and I quote, "You don't crown any champions in December or January". I see a lot of similarities between the two. Firstly, they really like using that december-championship jab. Secondly, Wright and Tom are both talented players (in their respective hobbies/careers) but unfortunately for both, they don't have enough talent around them to get where they want to be next season.
ReplyDeleteDavid Wright is a wise man. He appreciates the fact that the primary competition of the Flats, the Boston Pilgrims, are projected to keep a #4 starter.
ReplyDeleteI have reconsidered my A-Rod position coming into this draft and will be entertaining offers in the form of draft picks for Mr. Rod. Please contact me at ckriete@gmail.com.
